An Overview of the Art II Program
A complete year of high school Art II is available that contains step-by-step lesson plans, step-by-step PowerPoint presentations and seven major student project assignments.
- The PowerPoint presentations correspond with a related lesson plan, giving specific information and making visual the creative process of the major projects.

What do the lesson plans contain?
- Title: Project Name
- Idea: A concept or description of the project.
- Objectives: Statements in sequential progression for instruction and desired student outcomes.
- Hints/tips: Highlighted areas that will make the process easier or contributing to greater instructional success.
- Materials: A list of materials for the entire lesson and then broken down to the need for each activity.
- Activities: The objectives (#3 above) become individual Activities, and are further divided into step-by-step procedures for student accomplishments.
- Time line: The school year is 180 days, with 55 minutes for each class period, 5 days a week. 45 minutes are devoted for actual work time, with 5 minutes each for preparation and clean-up time

- Title: Project Name
- The project example: A major student based project.
- Student examples: All presentations contain extensive student examples.
- Complete step-by step procedure: Complete step-by-step procedure in both written and visual format.
Who could use this program?
This year long program of four quarters is designed for an art instructor, teaching a high school Art II class. Portions of the program could be adapted and used for:
1. Adult Art Education classes.
2. A Community College beginning art class.
3. Instructors giving private art classes.
4. A beginning artist that wants to treat this as a step-by-step
instructional resource.
The instruction and projects from this program can be used year after year. To make the program appear different each year, change the subject matter that is used for the major projects. This is a non-consumable product!
The program is based on a school year of 180 days. One week per semester is treated as non-instructional time and set aside for school activities and school testing. A time line for each lesson plan is included. The time line is based on a 55 minute period, five days a week. The actual class work time is 45 minutes, with 5 minutes set aside for preparation and 5 minutes for clean-up. The program contains instructions, visuals and projects for each quarter of the school year.
